What it does
Answers the hundreds of repeat questions your people team fields every week — leave entitlement rules, notice periods, expense and travel policy, probation, remote-work rules, which form to file and where — by searching the approved HR spaces in Confluence and replying in the Slack thread where the question was asked. Every answer carries the page, the link, the last-updated date, and where a process exists, the form to start it. It deliberately has no access to your HRIS. It cannot see anyone's leave balance, salary, performance record, or contract, and it never answers a question about a specific person's situation. That boundary is the design, not a limitation: it keeps a high-traffic chat agent entirely out of employee personal data, and it removes any path by which a general question becomes individual HR advice. Sensitive subjects are handled differently from unanswered ones. Anything touching harassment, grievance, discrimination, health, accommodation, disciplinary process, or termination is never answered from a policy page and never discussed in a public channel. The agent replies privately to the person, tells them a people partner will reach out, and notifies HR with a pointer to the conversation and nothing else — the notification carries no copy of what was said. The by-product is a ranked list of what your HR knowledge base is missing, posted where the people who maintain it can act on it.
Example prompts
- How much notice do I need to give for annual leave, and which form do I file?
- Someone asked in #ask-hr about the probation period length — answer it in the thread.
- What does the remote-work policy say about working from another country?
